The Park City Miners had to endure a seven-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They snuck past Tooele with a 70-65 victory on Thursday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
It was another big night for Duke Gordon, who scored 17 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Bridger LaPine, who scored 15 points.
Tooele lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Ethan B rogers, who scored 15 points along with four steals. Another player making a difference was Talon Shirley, who scored 18 points along with four steals.
Park City's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-13. As for Tooele, they dropped their record down to 4-12 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
Park City will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Huskies at 7:00 p.m. on January 30th. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Damani Wilkerson and Gordon. As for Tooele, they will be playing at home against the Trojans at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Morgan has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 560 points over their last eight games.
