For the first time this season, Raleigh will have a chance to prove themselves in a conference matchup. They will head out to square off against the Puckett Wolves at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
It was a proper cat-fight when Raleigh duked it out with Morton on Tuesday. The Lions put the hurt on the Panthers with a sharp 18-1 win. The Lions not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since March 28, 2025 (when they won 18-0).
Kallee McWilliams made a splash no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2025.

Raleigh was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .484. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Puckett strolled into their game on Thursday with a perfect record and they left with the same. Everything went their way against Morton as they made off with a 14-2 victory. Fans of the Wolves have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 6+ runs.

Raleigh's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for Puckett, their record is now 6-0.
Friday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Raleigh has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .451. However, it's not like Puckett struggles in that department as they've averaged .562. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Raleigh might still be hurting after the 12-6 defeat they got from Puckett in their previous meeting back in April of 2025. Can the Lions avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
