Southwest Onslow hasn't had much luck against North Lenoir recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Stallions will welcome the Hawks at 6:00 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Southwest Onslow's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They blew past Kinston 15-0. The Stallions haven't had any issues with the Vikings recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Whitney Grissett and Skylar Phillips were a major factor no matter where they played. Throwing, Grissett tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Phillips tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Grissett has been consistent for a while: she hasn't given up more than two walks any time she's pitched this season. At bat, Grissett scored four runs and stole three bases while going 4-for-4, while Phillips scored two runs and stole a base. Those three stolen bases gave Grissett a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Grace Randolph, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-2. Haylie Anderson was another key player, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.
Southwest Onslow always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .586. They are 4-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
North Lenoir never got on the board in their matchup on Friday, but that sure wasn't the case in their game against James Kenan on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Tigers.
Like Southwest Onslow, North Lenoir also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Rouse. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits over 4.1 innings pitched. Rouse was also big at the plate, scoring two runs while going 1-for-4.
In other batting news, Lakyn Whitley and Kailey Bridwell did most of the damage at the plate: Whitley went 2-for-4 with one home run and four RBI, while Bridwell scored two runs while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Haley Hemby, who scored two runs while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances.
North Lenoir's win bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Southwest Onslow, their victory bumped their record up to 6-8.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Southwest Onslow has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.1 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like North Lenoir struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
