Nottoway and Buckingham are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2019, but not for long. The two teams will face off at 8:00 p.m. on February 9th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Nottoway entered their tilt with Prince Edward County with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Nottoway was the clear victor by a 67-45 margin over Prince Edward County. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest win Nottoway has managed all season.
Nottoway can attribute much of their success to Eli Geter, who scored 11 points, and Kendreyeus Johnson, who scored 19 points along with two steals. Johnson has been hot recently, having posted 18 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anton Carter Jr., who scored six points along with nine rebounds.
Meanwhile, Buckingham came out on top against Cumberland on Wednesday by a score of 64-58 (the very same score they lost by the week prior).
Nottoway's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 7-11. As for Buckingham, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.
Nottoway came up short against Buckingham in their previous matchup back in January, falling 65-52. Can Nottoway avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
