Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for The Spring Hill Broncos, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They were beaten by Mill Valley 56-7 on Friday. Having soared to a lofty 63 points in the game before, Spring Hill couldn't push the score so high this time.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Mill Valley to victory, but perhaps none more so than Tristan Baker, who rushed for 178 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 8.5 yards per carry, and also picked up 72 receiving yards. Baker's longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards. Daniel Blaine was another key contributor, throwing for 211 yards and two touchdowns on only six passes.
Spring Hill's defeat dropped their record down to 7-3. As for Mill Valley, they are on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-2 record this season.
Spring Hill does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Mill Valley will take on Seaman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a three-game winning streak alive.
