Hamilton faced Casteel in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Wednesday. The Huskies took  a  3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Colts. The Huskies' loss signaled the end of their five-game winning streak.
 Hamilton started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 17-25, 25-23, 25-23,  25-11.
 Mikayla Haner paced Hamilton's offense, picking up 15 kills. Haner got some help from  Hailey Johnston and her 24 assists. Johnston was also solid from the service line:  she led the team with three aces.
Hamilton's  defeat was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 6-1 and their overall record down to 25-10. As for Casteel, they are  on a roll lately: they've  won seven of their last eight contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-10 record  this season.
 Hamilton will face off against Basha at 6:00  p.m.  on Thursday. Casteel does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
