Baseball Recap: Shady Side Academy's Losing Streak Snapped at Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Avonworth, Shady Side Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They walked away with a 7-4 win over the Steel Valley Ironmen. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their seven-game losing streak.

David Dillon was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one triple, one stolen base, and one run. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Brian Firman, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Shady Side Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .419. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.

Shady Side Academy's record is now 3-11. As for Steel Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 7-7 record this season.

Shady Side Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against Steel Valley: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
