Centauri is 2-8 against Alamosa since April of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Friday. The Falcons will be playing at home against the Mean Moose at 10:00 a.m. Centauri is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.9 runs per game this season.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Centauri turned things around against Pagosa Springs on Saturday. They walked away with an 8-4 victory over the Pirates.

Jace Haslett was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, he posted two strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple and two RBI.
In other batting news, Parker Buhr and Kamryn Garcia did most of the damage at the plate: Buhr went 4-for-5 with four runs and one triple, while Garcia went 2-for-3 with two runs, two doubles, and two RBI. Garcia has become a key player for Centauri: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 3-11 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Leland Chacon, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.
Centauri was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .375. They are 6-2 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Montezuma-Cortez hit Alamosa with a seven-run second inning on Saturday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Mean Moose came up short against the Panthers, falling 14-2. The Mean Moose have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Alamosa saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Xavier Lujan, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI and one double.
Centauri's win bumped their record up to 6-11. As for Alamosa, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Centauri has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.8 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Alamosa struggles in that department as they've been averaging 2.9 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Centauri skirted past Alamosa 17-15 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Falcons have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Mean Moose turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
