Turkeyfoot Valley Area hasn't had much luck against Mapletown recently, but that could start to change on Saturday. The Rams will be playing at home against the Maples at 1:00 p.m. Turkeyfoot Valley Area will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each contest than the last.
Having struggled with four losses in a row, Turkeyfoot Valley Area turned things around against Clay-Battelle on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 12-3 margin over the Cee-Bees. The Rams' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Rhylan Rugg made a big impact no matter where she played. She struck out 13 batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off eight hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three runs, three RBI, and one stolen base. She also hit a double, marking her first of the season.

In other batting news, Maleigha Younkin was incredible, going a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs, two doubles, and one triple. She continues to improve, besting her previous run total in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Ellie King, who went 3-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Turkeyfoot Valley Area was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. The last time their batting average was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Mapletown was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They came up short against Jefferson-Morgan, falling 17-0.
Turkeyfoot Valley Area picked up their first road victory, bumping their record up to 2-5. As for Mapletown, their loss dropped their record down to 3-10.
