If the Southern Bulldogs were riding high off their 60-36 takedown of the Meade Mustangs last Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. Southern was the victim of a rough 50-29 loss at the hands of Severna Park on Tuesday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Southern has scored all season.
When it comes to explaining why Southern lost, one person who can't be blamed is Ava Wooster. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 rebounds. Wooster hasn't dropped below 15points for six straight games.
Southern's loss dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Severna Park, the victory was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 12-1.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southern's road trip will continue as they head out to face South River at 11:30 a.m. on January 27th. As for Severna Park, they will face off against Arundel at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
