Hoosier Heritage recap November 13, 2013
New Palestine added to the longest winning streak in Hoosier Heritage this week by beating Mt. Vernon, 33-0. The victory was the 12th in a row for the team.
Shelbyville lost to Columbus East 42-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mitch Orem was a bright spot for the Golden Bears, as he caught 9 passes for 144 yards in the loss.
Riley Neal threw for 373 yards and 3 touchdowns. He was 30-49 with 1 interception.
Chandler Carroll was the best running back in the league this week. In 30 carries, he ran for 173 yards as Yorktown fell to the Olympians. Neal also contributed to the rushing game with 16 yards on the ground.
Thanks to the talents of Neal and Carroll, the Tigers have been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Neal is tops in the league in passing with 2,751 yards, while Carroll has rushed for 2,529 yards this season. Tops in the league in receiving yards is New Palestine's Tyler Walden, with 1,106 yards on 74 catches.
DeShaun French has rushed for 924 yards on 163 carries so far this year.
Yorktown led the league in scoring this week by notching 41 points on Yorktown.
