More is 1-6 against Pinewood since February of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Wednesday. The More Knights will be staying on the road to face off against the Pinewood Panthers at 5:30 p.m. on December 6th. Hopefully More focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Saturday.
Last Saturday, More earned a 57-45 victory over College Prep.
More can attribute much of their success to Tim Selway, who dropped a double-double on 25 points and 15 rebounds. The game was Selway's third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Selway, who scored 7 points.
Meanwhile, Pinewood entered their tilt with Valley Christian with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Pinewood walked away with a 81-69 win over Valley Christian on Saturday. Given Pinewood's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 168th, while Valley Christian is ranked 564th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
More now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Pinewood, their victory bumped their record up to 5-1.
More skirted past Pinewood 61-59 in their previous matchup back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for More since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
