The Calvary Chapel Eagles''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They were outmatched by St. Margaret's on the road and fell 55-14. Calvary Chapel has struggled against St. Margaret's recently, as their matchup on Friday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Calvary Chapel's loss came despite strong showings from Matthew Peters and Quinlan Russell. Peters gained 172 total yards and a touchdown, while Russell rushed for 11 yards and a touchdown. Peters' longest reception was for an incredible 72 yards.
Matt Arena went supernova for St. Margaret's, rushing for 127 yards and four touchdowns on only 12 carries. Max Ruff was another key contributor, throwing for 235 yards and four touchdowns while completing 95% of his passes.
Calvary Chapel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-6. As for St. Margaret's, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-4.
Calvary Chapel does not have any more games scheduled as of now. St. Margaret's will head out on the road to face off against Rio Hondo Prep at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Rio Hondo Prep is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
