Konos Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They really took it to Hearts Academy for the full four quarters, racking up a 73-36 victory on the road. With that victory, Konos Academy brought their scoring average up to 51.1 points per game.
Leading Konos Academy to victory were Preston Thornton and Samuel Brezina. Thornton scored 21 points, while Brezina dropped a double-double on 25 points and 11 rebounds. Thornton is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now stole two or more in the last seven games he's played. Another player making a difference was Joshua Knapp, who scored 10 points along with 6 rebounds and 4 steals.
The victory got Konos Academy back to even at 5-5. As for Hearts Academy, they are on a eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Konos Academy will take on Grace Christian Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Hearts Academy, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Providence Classical Christian at 6:00 p.m.
