Baseball Recap: Wakulla Has No Trouble Against Madison County

Wakulla won the last time they faced Madison County and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Wakulla War Eagles blew past the Madison County Cowboys 12-5. Considering the War Eagles have won five games by more than six runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.

William Wright looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).

At the plate, Sam Bruce was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with four RBI and two runs. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Joshua Merrill was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while going 2-for-3.

Wakulla always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .559. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Madison County only posted an OBP of .276.

Wakulla's win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Madison County, they now have a losing record of 5-6.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Wakulla will welcome Bozeman at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Bozeman is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.6 runs per game this season. As for Madison County, they will be defending their home field for the first time this season when they go up against West Port at 6:00 p.m. on Monday.
