The Bonita Bearcats stacked a ninth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Monday. They took their game on the road with ease, bagging a 83-43 win over Claremont. Given Bonita's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 268th, while Claremont is ranked 1095th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Hugo Montejo and Jaden Wang certainly did their best on Monday to try and avoid the loss. Montejo scored 16 points along with two steals, while Wang scored 12 points.
Bonita is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Claremont, they are on a ten-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-22.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Bonita will take on Glendora at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams are coming into the matchup red-hot, with Glendora sitting on 11 straight wins and Bonita on four. As for Claremont, they will be playing at home against Ayala at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Ayala knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past 12 matches -- so hopefully Claremont likes a good challenge.
