The Rehobeth Rebels will be playing in front of their home fans against the Long Rebels at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.
Last Friday, Rehobeth got the win against Shelby County by a conclusive 40-14. Given Rehobeth's advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama football rankings (they are ranked 130th, while Shelby County is ranked 265th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Brayden Hardy went supernova for Rehobeth, rushing for 186 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 9.8 yards per carry. Hardy was no stranger to the big play, taking off on a dash that went for 63 yards. Tevin James was another key contributor, rushing for 49 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, Long didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Wicksburg on Friday, but they still walked away with a 31-26 victory. The win made it back-to-back wins for Long.
Rehobeth's victory was their third straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 5-4. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Shelby County, Greenville, and Opp. As for Long, their victory bumped their record up to 7-2.
Rehobeth strolled past Long in their previous matchup back in October of 2022 by a score of 40-21. Does Rehobeth have another victory up their sleeve, or will Long turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
