If Starkville was feeling good  off their  16-2 takedown of West Point last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit.  On Lafayette's side,  the team  relied heavily on  Brody Breithaupt, who  went 3-for-4 with three  doubles, two  RBI,  and a  run. The team also got some help courtesy of  Lawson Fortner, who  went 1-for-3 with a  triple and a  run.
 Starkville's loss dropped their record down to 14-13. As for Lafayette, they have  been performing  incredibly well recently as they've  won 19 of their last 21 contests,  which provided a nice bump to their 25-7 record  this season.
 Starkville will look to defend their home field  on Friday against Lewisburg at 7:00  p.m. Starkville will be looking to keep their seven-game home win streak  alive. Lafayette does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
