The teams are rolling into the game with opposing streaks: Laytonville has struggled recently with seven losses in a row, while Point Arena will arrive with five straight wins.

Meanwhile, Point Arena put the finishing touches on their ninth blowout victory of the season on Thursday. They breezed by Potter Valley on the road to the tune of 83-23. With Point Arena ahead 59-12 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Fernando Lopez was his usual excellent self, scoring 27 points along with eight rebounds and four steals. Lopez is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Tosh Mouton, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds.
Laytonville's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which bumped their record down to 0-5. As for Point Arena, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season.
Laytonville took a serious blow against Point Arena when the teams last played back in December of 2023, falling 79-18. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Lopez, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 12 rebounds.
