Iraan has enjoyed the comforts of home their last three games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The McCamey Badgers at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Iraan was not the first on the board last Friday, but they got there more often. They walked away with a 27-20 victory over Eldorado.
Iraan can attribute much of their success to Tristan Griffin, who rushed for 129 yards and two touchdowns on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Cole Bowman, who threw for 213 yards and two touchdowns while completing 80.8% of his passes.
Iraan's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB three times. Leading the way was Cade Cravens and his two sacks.
Meanwhile, McCamey didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Water Valley on Friday, but they still walked away with a 36-30 win. The win was just what McCamey needed coming off of a 52-21 loss in their prior matchup.
It was another big night for Grant Glidewell, who threw for 228 yards and five touchdowns while completing 82.4% of his passes, and also rushed for 129 yards. Glidewell hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for three straight games. Aiden Torres did his part to keep the secondary busy, picking up 80 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Iraan's victory bumped their record up to 4-5. As for McCamey, their win bumped their record up to an identical 4-5.
Iraan took a serious blow against McCamey when the teams last played back in November of 2022, falling 50-14. Can Iraan avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
