The Mancos Bluejays won the last time they faced the Ignacio Bobcats, and things went their way on Thursday too. Mancos blew past Ignacio 67-42.
Mancos got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Brian Veach out in front who scored 22 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Veach has scored at least 25% of Mancos' points. Another player making a difference was Kaiden Wyatt, who scored 14 points along with six rebounds.
Mancos' win was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 2-1. As for Ignacio, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mancos will challenge Del Norte at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Del Norte will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Colorado Rankings (they are ranked 275th, while Mancos is ranked 124th). Ignacio won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Sargent at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th. Sargent will be coming into the match with an undefeated record on the line.
