Softball Recap: North Iredell Wins Going Away Against Elkin

North Iredell got themselves on the board against Elkin on Thursday, but Elkin never followed suit. They blew past the Bucking Elks 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won six games by six runs or more so far this season.

Kynlie Moss was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out 12 over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.

In other batting news, North Iredell got a big performance out of Chelsea Patton, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Jaycee Warren also deserves some recognition as she hit her first double of the season.

North Iredell always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .520. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

North Iredell is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 7-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Elkin, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-11.

North Iredell has already played their next contest, a 12-2 victory against West Iredell on the 10th. As for Elkin, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 15-0 defeat against West Wilkes on the 10th.
