Breathitt County has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Monday. They will take on the Jackson City Tigers at 7:30 p.m. Breathitt County will be strutting in after a victory while Jackson City will be coming in after a loss.
Even though Lee County scored an imposing 60 points on Tuesday, Breathitt County still came out on top. Breathitt County simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Lee County 90-60 at home.
Breathitt County's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Austin Sperry, who scored 20 points along with 6 rebounds and 3 blocks. Another player making a difference was Isaac Bellamy, who scored 21 points along with 3 steals.
Meanwhile, this season hasn't been kind to Jackson City, who are still winless after their fourth matchup. They took a 72-62 hit to the loss column at the hands of Wolfe County on Friday. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Thursday (60), Jackson City still had to take the loss.
Their wins bumped Breathitt County to 2-0 and Lee County to 2-3.
Everything came up roses for Breathitt County against Jackson City in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 81-49 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Breathitt County since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
