Baseball Game Preview: Hudson Hornets vs. Bullard Panthers

Hudson is 6-1 against Bullard since March of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Tuesday. The Hornets will be playing at home against the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Hudson 3.2, Bullard 3) so any runs scored will be well earned.

The home team had come away the winner the last four times Hudson and Center had met, but sadly for the fans who attended this one that wasn't the case. The Hornets came out on top against the Roughriders by a score of 6-1 on Thursday. The win continues a trend for the Hornets in their matchups with the Roughriders: they've now won seven in a row.

Alberto Ibarra spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on six hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Cutter Warren, who went 2-for-3 with one triple and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Bullard waltzed into their matchup on Thursday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came within a single run of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Wildcats.

Bullard saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Jackson Holt, who went 1-for-5 with one stolen base and one run.

Bullard pushed their record up to 21-7-1 with the victory, which was their seventh straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.1 runs over those games. As for Hudson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-11-1.

Hudson skirted past Bullard 2-1 in their previous meeting back in April of 2024. Will the Hornets repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
