 Cornish wasn't  the only one making solid contact as  two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was  Hannah Benzel, who  went 1-for-2 with  an  RBI. Another player making a difference was  Kaiya Hudson, who  scored two  runs while  getting on base  in two of her four plate appearances.
 Meanwhile, North Platte was not able to break out of their rough patch  on Saturday as the team picked up their seventh straight  loss. They fell just short of Gering by a score of  9-8.
 Alliance's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18. As for North Platte, their loss dropped their record down to 3-13.
 Alliance might still be hurting after the  12-0 defeat they got from North Platte  when the teams last played  back in September of 2022. Can Alliance avenge their  loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
