Meanwhile,  it was a proper cat-fight when Jefferson duked it out with Waconia on Thursday. The Jaguars might be feeling deja-vu: they lost  6-5 to the Wildcats, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. The Jaguars have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
  Aidan Wong made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and  got on base  in three of his four plate appearances with one  stolen base and one  RBI.  Cole Peterson also deserves some recognition as  he  snagged his first  stolen base of the season.
 Orono's win was  their third straight on the road, which  pushed their record up to 8-5. The  road  victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Jefferson, their loss dropped their record down to 2-11.
 Orono came up short against Jefferson in their previous matchup  back in May of 2024, falling  4-0. Can the Spartans avenge their  defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
