The Oroville Tigers's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Lassen Grizzlies at 7:00 p.m. on February 14th. Hopefully Oroville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 26 on Tuesday.
Oroville struggled with offensive rebounds on Tuesday (Orland had seven more) and sadly the final score reflected it. Oroville had to suffer through a rough 71-44 loss at the hands of Orland. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oroville in their matchups with Orland: they've now lost seven in a row.
Despite the loss, Oroville saw an underclassman step up: Kevin Taylor scored 18 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Taylor has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jantzen Demitrial, who scored 11 points.
Meanwhile, Lassen pushed their score all the way to 59 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell 68-59 to West Valley.
Oroville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season. As for Lassen, their loss was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 14-13.
Oroville came up short against Lassen in their previous matchup back in January of 2023, falling 67-62. Thankfully for Oroville, Blaine Wolf (who scored 30 points) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result? There's only one way to find out.
