The Coronado Cougars will face off against the Taylorsville Warriors at 10:00  a.m.  on Saturday. The two teams have had a bumpy ride up to this point with three consecutive losses for Coronado and seven for Taylorsville dating back to last season.
Coronado saw some tournament action  on Friday. They came up short against  Dixie, falling  8-1.
Coronado got a good showing from  Diego Pena, who   pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off   three  hits. Pena has been consistent : he hasn't  given up  more than one  walk in six consecutive appearances.
 At the plate, Coronado saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was  Dillon Victoravich, who  went 2-for-3 with one  double and one  RBI.
 Meanwhile, Taylorsville didn't have quite enough to beat Arbor View on Friday and fell  3-2.
 Coronado's defeat dropped their record down to 4-9. As for Taylorsville, their loss dropped their record down to 0-5.
 Coronado beat Taylorsville 10-6  in their previous meeting  back in March of 2024. The rematch might be a little tougher for Coronado since the  team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
