Having struggled with 14 losses in a row, Wiregrass turned things around against Tuscaloosa Home Educators on Saturday. They walked away with a 55-44 victory over the Warriors.
Wiregrass' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Caleb Dozier, who posted 18 points and six rebounds. Graysen Ellison also deserves some recognition as he posted his first blocks of the season.
Meanwhile, Ezekiel Academy came tearing into Monday's matchup with 13 straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Patriots 60-21. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight games by 22 points or more this season.
Wiregrass better keep an eye on Kelson Free. He was instrumental in Ezekiel Academy's win, going 8 for 15 on his way to 23 points along with five boards and three steals. The contest was Free's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Terrence Sankey, who earned eight points in addition to seven rebounds and three steals.
Ezekiel Academy was working as a unit and finished the game with 18 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Southern Christian only racked up four assists.
