Minden took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Friday. Everything went their way against the Adams Central Patriots as they made off with a 44-22 win. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Whippets just coasted through the last quarter.
Minden's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caleb Schwenka, who rushed for 76 yards and a pair of touchdowns. Schwenka's longest rush was for an incredible 72 yards. Logan Verbeck helped out on the ground, rushing for 98 yards.
Adams Central lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jackson Foster, who threw for 199 yards and three TDs. Adams Central's leading receiver Nick Mousel was Foster's top target yet again, picking up 92 receiving yards and one score.
Minden didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 20-0 defeat against Sidney on the 5th. As for Adams Central, they have also already played their next contest, a 34-6 loss against Lakeview on the 5th.
