Bastrop has gone 9-1 against Cedar Creek recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. Bastrop will head out to face off against Cedar Creek at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bastrop has eight straight victories, Cedar Creek has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bastrop's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. Everything went their way against Richards School for Young Women Leaders as Bastrop made off with an 18-0 win. The result was nothing new for the Bears, who have now won ten matches by eight runs or more so far this season.
Molleigh Goertz made a big impact no matter where she played. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two hits in five consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing a base while getting on base in two of her three plate appearances. That's the most runs she has posted since back in February.

In other batting news, Laicey Sullivent was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jessa Clay, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one run.
Bastrop was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .700. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .350 or higher in eight consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Cedar Creek came up short against Crockett on Tuesday, falling 24-1.
Cedar Creek saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was A Mata, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-1.
Bastrop's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 12-5-2. Those wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.0 run on average over those games. As for Cedar Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-18.
Everything went Bastrop's way against Cedar Creek when the teams last played on March 4th, as Bastrop made off with a 15-0 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Bastrop since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
