Rockingham County has gone a perfect 10-0 against Reidsville recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing in front of their home fans against the Rams at 7:00 p.m. The timing is sure in Rockingham County's favor as the squad sits on three straight wins at home while Reidsville has been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road dating back to last season.
It was a proper cat-fight when Rockingham County took on East Chapel Hill on Tuesday. The Cougars put the hurt on the Wildcats with a sharp 12-1 victory. The Cougars might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 11 runs or more this season.
Bryson Apple was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Apple was also big at the plate, going 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other pitching news, Chase Holcomb looked comfortable as he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits.
Back at the plate, Rockingham County let Luke Strittmatter and Hudson Deel run wild. Strittmatter went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one double, while Deel went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those RBI were Strittmatter's first of the season. Gauge Rakestraw was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one run.
Rockingham County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as East Chapel Hill only posted an OBP of .200.
Meanwhile, Reidsville got the win against Atkins on Monday by a conclusive 11-5.
Rockingham County's win bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Reidsville, the victory got them back to even at 3-3.
Rockingham County was able to grind out a solid win over Reidsville when the teams last played back in April of 2025, winning 6-3. Do the Cougars have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Rams turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
