The Golden Demons scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Alameda 78-7 at home. Golden has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matchups by 23 points or more this season.
Leading Golden to victory were Allie Neal and Freya Wellman. Neal scored 14 points along with four steals, while Wellman scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wellman has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Zonyalane Bermanis, who scored nine points along with four steals.
The victory got Golden back to even at 7-7. As for Alameda, they bumped their record down to 2-9 with that defeat, which was their 17th straight on the road.
Golden will take on Evergreen at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Evergreen focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up ten on Friday. As for Alameda, they will be playing at home against Conifer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Conifer is ranked 280th, while Alameda is ranked 298th).
