Servite waltzed into their contest on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They slipped by the Mater Academy East Las Vegas Knights 45-44. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Friars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 162nd in California, while the Knights are ranked eighth in Nevada).

Servite was led to victory by Bryson Taiulu Allen and Jake Schutt. Taiulu Allen went 6 of 15 on his way to 19 points, while Schutt went 5 for 12 en route to 13 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Gage Rivera, who posted six points.

Servite's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they moved to 8-5 with that defeat, which also ended their four-game winning streak.

Servite didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 60-48 loss against Camarillo on the 30th. As for Mater Academy East Las Vegas, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 66-57 defeat against Corona del Mar on the 30th.
