Basketball Recap: Midfield Falls Despite Big Games from Jaden Sellers and Armonie Franklin

After flying high against Pickens County last Saturday, Midfield came back down to earth. The Midfield Patriots took a 45-41 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Fairfield Tigers. The Patriots have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their sixth consecutive lost matchup.

Midfield's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Armonie Franklin, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and ten rebounds, and Jaden Sellers, who posted 11 points and three blocks. The dominant performance gave Sellers a new career-high in blocks. Aaron Adams-Martin was another key player, putting up nine points.

Midfield's defeat dropped their record down to 7-4. As for Fairfield, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the victory, which was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season.

Midfield will take on Altamonte Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Saturday. Midfield is facing Altamonte Christian at the right time seeing as Altamonte Christian is stuck on a five-game losing streak. As for Fairfield, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Fairfield Tigers challenge the Milton Panthers at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday.
