The Clearview Clippers lost against the Wellington Dukes back in February of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. Clearview was beaten by Wellington 55-28. While losing is never fun, Clearview can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 629th, while Wellington is ranked 271st).
It was another big night for Gabby Miller, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 20 rebounds for Wellington. Those 20 rebounds set a new season-high mark for her. Another player making a difference was Taylor Morris, who scored ten points.
Clearview bumped their record down to 3-7 with that defeat, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 27.7 points per game. As for Wellington, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 8-2.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Clearview will face off against Columbia at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Wellington, they will head out on the road to face off against Loudonville at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Loudonville is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
