The Riverside-Durham Pirates will challenge the Leesville Road Pride at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are strolling into their contests after big wins in their previous games.
Riverside-Durham came out on top against Hillside on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run fifth inning. The Pirates never let the Hornets get on the board and left with a 10-0 victory. The Pirates haven't had any issues with the Hornets recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive win against them.

Jesse May tossed a big game, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Those 11 strikeouts gave him a new career-high.
At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lucas Setji, who went 2-for-3 with five stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Sam Bowers also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Leesville Road). Everything went their way against Enloe on Thursday as they made off with a 20-3 victory. The result was nothing new for the Pride, who have now won five games by ten runs or more so far this season.
Rafe Greer looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, Leesville Road let Max Blumberg and Ben Fields run wild. Blumberg went 3-for-4 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs, while Fields went 2-for-4 with five RBI, three runs, and one double. Will Matthews was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Leesville Road kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 12 hits in three consecutive matchups.
Riverside-Durham now has a winning record of 4-3. As for Leesville Road, their record now sits at 8-4.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Riverside-Durham has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 8.9 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Leesville Road struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.9 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
