Even though the Cedar Reds scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, the Pine View Panthers still came out on top. Pine View walked away with a 67-55 win over Cedar. Given Pine View's advantage in MaxPreps' Utah basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while Cedar is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Nash Schroeder was his usual excellent self, scoring 29 points along with five steals. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 13 games he's played. Griffen Shepherd was another key contributor, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds.
Pine View is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Cedar, they are on a five-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13.
Pine View will head out on the road to face off against Crimson Cliffs at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Crimson Cliffs knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past six contests -- so hopefully Pine View likes a good challenge. As for Cedar, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Dixie at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
