The Priddy Pirates will square off against the Brookesmith Mustangs at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Brookesmith took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Priddy, who comes in off a win.
Priddy stacked a 14th blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Tuesday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Sidney 63-24 on the road. Given Priddy's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 635th, while Sidney is ranked 1502nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Priddy found their leader in underclassman Amber Grelle, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. Grelle is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played. Another player making a difference was Natalie Seider, who scored eight points along with seven rebounds and five steals.
Meanwhile, Brookesmith came up short against Rochelle two weeks ago and fell 43-30. Brookesmith has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Priddy has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Brookesmith, their loss dropped their record down to 10-10.
Priddy strolled past Brookesmith in their previous meeting back in February of 2023 by a score of 38-19. Will Priddy repeat their success, or does Brookesmith have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
