The Country Christian Cougars are taking a road trip to face off against the Kennedy Trojans at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, Country Christian put up the most runs they have all season on Wednesday. Everything went their way against Western Christian as they made off with a 21-9 victory. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Grace Colvin was a standout: she went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, four runs, and one double. Colvin is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. Hazel Arcouette also deserves some recognition as she got her first hits of the season.
Country Christian always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .744. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Kennedy came out on top against Colton on Friday thanks in part to the team's impressive 15-run third inning. The Trojans blew past the Vikings 16-1. Considering the Trojans have won five contests by more than nine runs this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
Grace Traeger made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Traeger was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brianna Traeger, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April of 2024. Another player making a difference was Audrey Brenden, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
The victory made it two in a row for Country Christian and bumps their season record up to 3-2-1. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.5 runs over those games. As for Kennedy, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
Monday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Country Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .569. However, it's not like Kennedy struggles in that department as they've averaged .567. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Country Christian might still be hurting after the 11-1 defeat they got from Kennedy in their previous meeting two weeks ago. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
