If La Costa Canyon wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Torrey Pines, they should've done a better job of containing Griffin Dieter. The Falcons walked away with a 3-1 win over the Mavericks on Thursday thanks in part to Dieter, who had 24 digs and four aces. He has been hot for a while, having posted 11 or more digs the last ten times he's played.

While Torrey Pines might've won, it sure wasn't easy: La Costa Canyon scored at least 19 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-22, 23-25, 25-20, 25-19.

The victory made it two in a row for Torrey Pines and bumps their season record up to 23-6. As for La Costa Canyon, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-16 record this season.

Torrey Pines wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 2-1 win against Helix on the 25th. As for La Costa Canyon, they will take on Del Norte at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mavericks are facing the Nighthawks at the right time seeing as the Nighthawks are stuck on a four-game losing streak.
