The Skyview Wolverines's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Timnath Cubs at 2:00 p.m. on December 7th. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Saturday, Skyview faced Eaton in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Skyview slipped by Eaton 45-44.
Skyview's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nevaeh Lucero, who scored 18 points. The matchup was Lucero's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Vero Munoz was another key contributor, scoring 4 points along with 5 assists and 3 steals.
Meanwhile, Timnath really took it to Arrupe Jesuit for the full four quarters, racking up a 75-32 win on the road. With that win, Timnath brought their scoring average up to 52 points per game.
Gretchen Deines and Tiana Guzman were among the main playmakers for Timnath as the former scored 14 points along with 6 steals and the latter scored 24 points along with 9 rebounds and 3 steals. Another player making a difference was Izzy Schimmelpfennig, who scored 10 points along with 4 steals.
Their wins bumped Skyview to 4-0 and Eaton to 2-1.
Fans should be in for an exciting game on Thursday as Skyview and Timnath are among the highest scoring teams in the league right now. Skyview hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 62.8 points per game. However, it's not like Timnath struggles in that department as they've been averaging 52 per game.
