Winning is just a little bit easier when you work as a team to rack up 13 more assists than your opponent, a fact the Windsor Wizards proved on Friday. They blew past Vista Ridge, posting a 77-16 victory on the road. This was payback for Windsor, who suffered a 64-55 loss the last time these two teams met.
Windsor was led to victory by John Backhaus and Johnathan Reed. Backhaus scored 17 points along with 6 rebounds, while Reed dropped a double-double on 12 points and 10 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Madden Smiley, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
The victory got Windsor back to even at 1-1. As for Vista Ridge, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Windsor will head out on the road to face off against Fossil Ridge at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. Fossil Ridge presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Windsor in Colorado (Fossil Ridge is ranked fifth, while Windsor is ranked 64th). Vista Ridge's road trip will continue as they head out to face Poudre at 11:00 a.m. on December 2nd.
