The Jensen Beach Falcons lost against the South Fork Bulldogs back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Jensen Beach fell 52-39 to South Fork. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Jensen Beach in their matchups with South Fork: they've now lost eight in a row.
Jensen Beach lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jason Curry jr., who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Charlie Alexander, who scored 11 points along with eight rebounds and two steals.
Even though they lost, Jensen Beach smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Fork only pulled down six offensive rebounds.
South Fork's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Loghan Downie, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two steals. Downie hasn't dropped below 15 points for six straight games. Nick Chang was another key contributor, scoring 17 points.
Jensen Beach's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for South Fork, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 13-4.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Okeechobee the next time they take the court. South Fork will head out to face Okeechobee at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, while Jensen Beach will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
