Lloyd Memorial is 1-7 against Bishop Brossart since March of 2016 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Juggernauts will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lloyd Memorial headed into their last matchup having not scored more than two runs for three straight, but Holmes let them put that streak behind them. The Juggernauts never let the Bulldogs get on the board and left with a 15-0 victory on Wednesday. The win continues a trend for the Juggernauts in their matchups with the Bulldogs: they've now won eight in a row.

The team relied heavily on Luke Landers, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. Lloyd Memorial is undefeated when Landers posts two or more stolen bases, but 4-7 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jayden Jasper, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Lloyd Memorial always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .647. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Bishop Brossart ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They won by a run and slipped past Holy Cross 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Mustangs as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak.
Nate Geiman was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaac Amin, who went 2-for-4 with one double and one RBI.
The win got Bishop Brossart back to even at 9-9. As for Lloyd Memorial, the victory got them back to even at 7-7.
Everything went Lloyd Memorial's way against Bishop Brossart in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Lloyd Memorial made off with an 8-2 win. Will the Juggernauts repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
