The Springfield Tigers had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 21 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Saturday. Everything went their way against Edgerton as Springfield made off with a 76-56 victory. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win Springfield has posted yet this season.
Brayden Sturm continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 30 points and 2 assists. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Ben Potter was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with six rebounds and two steals.
Springfield is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 8-6 record this season. As for Edgerton, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-11.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Springfield will square off against Cedar Mountain at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Mountain is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Edgerton, they will head out on the road to challenge Mountain Lake/Comfrey at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
