After nine games on the road, Agua Fria is heading back home. They will take on the Peoria Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Agua Fria focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Thursday.
Agua Fria suffered their biggest loss yet this season on Thursday. They were dealt a 101-52 loss at the hands of Deer Valley. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Agua Fria in their matchups with Deer Valley: they've now lost six in a row.
Despite their defeat, Agua Fria saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Anthony Perez, who scored 11 points, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Xavier Daniels, who scored 11 points along with five assists and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Peoria scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They really took it to Goldwater for the full four quarters, racking up a 76-48 win at home. The win was some much needed relief for Peoria as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.
Desmone Brooks-conley was his usual excellent self, scoring 23 points along with two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Marcus Jackson Jr., who scored eight points along with nine assists and two steals.
Agua Fria's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Peoria, their victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-15.
This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Agua Fria hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 51.1 points per game. It's a different story for Peoria, though, as they've been averaging only 49.9 points per game. The only thing between Agua Fria and another offensive beatdown is Peoria. Will they be able to keep them contained?
Agua Fria came up short against Peoria when the teams last played back in January of 2023, falling 61-52. Can Agua Fria avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
