Austin has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against The Huntsville Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Austin can now show off six landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They blew past Bob Jones 49-22 at home.
Meanwhile, Huntsville beat Sparkman 35-28 on Friday.
Huntsville's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Jacks Mcclung, who threw for 175 yards and two touchdowns. Marlin Jones was in the mix too, providing Huntsville with two touchdowns.
Austin's win was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 7-2. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 0-8 Albertville and 2-6 Grissom (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 35.8% over those games). As for Huntsville, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 5-4 record this season.
Austin ended up a good deal behind Huntsville in their previous meeting back in October of 2022, losing 45-31. Can Austin avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
