Section 4 D Division VI recap October 1, 2013
Tioga extended the longest winning streak in Section 4 D Division VI this week by beating Seton Catholic Central, 44-22. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Tigers.
The Saints moved up to 431 from 503 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. Seton Catholic Central was able to move up by losing to Tioga 44-22.
Sidney's offense was unstoppable this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Patrick Vibbard threw for 376 and 3 touchdowns and Billy Kozak had 208 yards receiving. On the ground Kozak chipped in 18 yards. Dillon Rutenber helped Sidney's passing attack out by catching 8 balls for 130 yards.
He went 21-42 with 2 interceptions.
Kozak was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 10 carries, he ran for 18 yards as the Warriors lost to Harpursville.
Sidney's offense cannot be tamed this season and the Warriors feature the season leaders in passing, rushing and receiving yards. Vibbard has thrown for 989 yards and 7 touchdowns this season, while Kozak has 9 catches for 253 yards.
A big matchup in Section 4 D Division VI this week will be when Nick Aiello's team takes on Oxford Academy. The Tigers are currently in first, while the Blackhawks are in fifth.
Tioga took down the Saints 44-22 last week, the largest margin of any game.
