On Wednesday Paul McCarthy didn't allow a single earned run while striking out seven over five innings pitched. The effort also marked the fewest earned runs (zero) McCarthy has had since back in May of 2024. As if that's not impressive enough, the pitching appearance was his third in a row with less than two walks. This season, he has an ERA of 1.50 over 14 innings pitched.
